PlayStation Move

Media_httpfarm5static_vaore

This is apparently the final design for the PlayStation motion controller. Visually it's much like the Wii controller, but technically it differs as it operates using a camera - the PlayStation Eye (already available). The camera detects the exact position of the controller in 3D space instead of relative like the Wii controller. This means no cheating - it will know if you're only half heartedly attacking that dragon from the comfort of your sofa. The camera also allows for augmented reality, drawing the user further into a virtual world.

PS3 3D Soon

Media_httpimages1pock_dtkjr

Were you aware that 3D is coming to your home this year? Do you have any idea how important this should be to you? I've only just seen my first 3D film at the IMAX, but apparently it's already time to chuck out those antiquated 1080 Full HD 40'' Widescreen High Contrast Super Definition Dolby Surround LCD TVs and get yourself a 3D TV. Then, of course, it's time to replace all your existing movies with newly re-re-remastered 3D versions. At least if you already have a PS3 you don't need to get a new one, which will get a firmware update in a few months time.

Is it just me who thinks this is being a little hastily thrust upon us? Even the marketing has been a rushed job. Avatar, some Channel 4 specials, umm some Superbowl thing I think. Not exactly generating a massive demand for the home market.
